Build your AirBenchSome dusts including titanium and magnesium are too reactive to be captured safely using dry filtration in most situations. Titanium is a major source of dust in aerospace applications and is hazardous; when worked it can produce sparks, and the dust produced is flammable – meaning titanium processing is high risk.
For these applications we specify wet filtration systems. Wet filters use water and a self-induced scrubbing action to remove dusts from airstreams. Dust is removed as a sludge from the filtration unit and can be disposed of through your standard dust disposal supplier.
While many dusts can be flammable, certain materials can create large fires in seconds meaning personal risk is high; in addition to the risk from dust inhalation.
Titanium parts are generally supplied to aerospace manufacturers meaning quality standards are high. Contamination with fugitive dust is not acceptable in this environment.
A healthy workforce is always more productive – fewer sick days mean a more effective business.
