Green Technology at AirBench Explained

Supporting the green technology project, AirBench complies with the latest ErP efficiency requirements for all the systems including fan systems, fume extraction and dust extraction systems.

What is Green Technology?

Green technology is a term used for machinery that is intended to have a positive effect on the environment. In order to achieve this, all companies should follow the European Directive ErP.

ErP Directive Regulations

Objectives

This Directive aims to improve environmental protection and energy efficiency by motivating companies to design products that have a reduced impact on the environment. This applies to products that involve energy consumption from the manufacturing period, while they are being used and up to their disposal. Exemption: Transportation (Persons and Goods)

Criteria

The ErP Directive only applies to energy-related products according to the following criteria:

  • Energy-related products that are sold in over 200,000 units per annum in Europe
  • Products that have an important environmental impact
  • Products that have a potential for enhancement

Responsibilities

Both manufacturers and importers are responsible for making sure that their products comply with all the requirements of the ErP Directive. However, if the manufacturer is not yet established in the community and it is proven to be unrelated to the importer, besides importing purposes, these responsibilities lie with the importer.

Energy Labelling

All energy-related products should be labelled with an energy efficiency rating. Providing an exact energy efficient rating is also the responsibility of the manufacturer. For systems that contain different products, the manufacturer should label these based on the combined energy efficiency rating of the products included in the system.

All AirBench products are designed to be environmentally friendly. Fully compliant with safety directives, they are also proven to have low energy consumption.
