As one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of dust, fume and mist extraction equipment, AirBench specialises in finding solutions to a wide range of workplace air quality problems. Established in 1993, we have more than 30 years’ experience, supplying high quality extraction systems for businesses of all sizes across many different sectors.

Since launching operations as WorkPoint Environments Ltd., we have provided more than 10,000 fume collection systems and dust extraction units to clients across the UK, Europe and worldwide. Changing our name to AirBench Ltd. in 2011, our brand has continued to be the trusted go-to industry solution.
As a family business, we have evolved from being a small dust extraction equipment supplier, from a range of brands, to manufacturing our own products to solve specific challenges for customers.
Some of our employees have been with the company since the early days, ensuring we’re able to offer a continuity of customer service unrivalled in our industry. We have also built up a trusted network of distributors outside the UK to ensure our products are widely available.
All our AirBenches, VertExes, OMFs and MFs are assembled in our East of England factory, with our extensive experience placing us in a strong position to recommend the correct dust or fume extraction system for each working environment.
AirBench units’ accreditations and certifications include COSHH and HSG258 compliant systems with ERP certified fans, supporting both safety and energy efficiency.
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 are managed by the Health and Safety Executive, providing guidance on workplace safety when employees are exposed to all types of harmful substances. Aspects of COSHH include advice on how to reduce exposure, carrying out a risk assessment and the different types of hazardous processes and tasks in various industries.
Modular systems like VertEx and Air Cleaning Units allow flexible installation and easy scaling across different workspace layouts. VertEx cross-draught extraction systems are modular walls of extraction, drawing in dust or fumes through perforated front panels. The air passes through internal filters selected to suit the application, removing contaminants from the workspace and returning clean filtered air into the room. Highly versatile, they start from a single 1,200mm x 600mm extracted face, with no upper limit size-wise, making them large enough for any application, including walk-in fume and dust extraction booths.
Our Air Cleaning Units are based on proven AirBench fan and filter technology, solving atmospheric dust issues caused by dust escape from nearby processes. The MF units run continuously and will gently clean and recirculate workshop air to improve the working environment.
The larger AT systems are designed for use in factory environments, where existing extraction systems may leave excess fumes or dust in the air – this can be the case in welding facilities, where a large amount of dust is created by the processes. Our stand-alone systems efficiently clean high volumes of air continuously, using integrated pulse clean systems to remove dust from the filters.
Suitable for everything from oil mist to solvent fumes, we offer specialised filters and configurations, like HEPA and carbon options. For example, alternative filter sets can configure the VertEx as a grinding booth for metal work, a sanding booth for wood and similar dusts, or a fume extraction booth by using carbon filtration.
As well as regular dust extraction systems, we also manufacture wet dust extraction options for flammable dusts: while flammable and combustible dusts can be captured using standard filtration systems, in some cases, dry filtration is not recommended. AirBench’s range of wet dust extraction systems and wet downdraught benches will safely extract flammable and explosive dusts, minimising the risks of accidents.
Most AirBench models are plug and play, requiring minimal setup and no external ducting — a major advantage over complex fixed systems. A quick and straight forward process, installation can often be completed by customers, such as with VertEx booths. However, if in doubt, we can always provide support. We estimate one day per filter unit for us to install OMFs, including wiring to your machine tool, using fully trained and insured installers.
Maintenance of our products is designed to be user friendly, with easily accessible filters, condition indicators, and quick change parts that reduce downtime.
VertEx units are normally user serviceable for routine maintenance, although we recommend an annual service in relation to LEVs. By law, LEV testing should be carried out at least every 14 months, and more often for some processes.
For OMFs, annual servicing is sufficient, as in the majority of cases, the units will run for many years with minimal attention. To keep the system operational, a basic check by an engineer is required, plus filter changes. As an LEV system, all OMF extraction units should be tested every 14 months to confirm they are working effectively.
