What is a Downflow Booth?
A downflow booth is designed to provide a continuous airflow using very clean, filtered air, at a low air speed, moving downwards from the ceiling and over the operator. Air is then extracted backwards into multi-stage air filters located within the back wall of the flow booth. This provides continuous recirculation, with a small percentage of the airflow being exhausted after filtration. This keeps the whole interior of the booth at negative pressure, preventing contaminants escaping from the downflow booth.
Filter selection generally consists of 2-stage pre filters and medium grade secondary filters to the rear; with H13 HEPA filtration as final filters before air is returned to the booth. However, other filtration options can be provided.
Downflow booths, or dust containment booths, can be used to house dispensing equipment; as a weighing booth; or simply for operator protection during other manual processes.
